Visual Art Lessons for K-8 Educators
This website provides art lesson plans for teachers. All lessons have been developed and time-tested by the specialists at the Art Center in the Fairbanks, Alaska public schools. Although developed for a specific grade, all lessons are easily adaptable to others levels. Many of the lessons developed for 4th and up are easily relevant for middle school art students. Please keep in mind that these lesson plans are designed to be taught with an ‘Art Kit’ and may not be easily usable without the visuals in the kit.

Educators' Resource Guide to Alaska Standards - from the Curriculum Frameworks Project
The Educators' Resource Guide to the Alaska Standards is an online resource that will help districts and teachers develop, teach and assess a standards-based curriculum. The Guide is divided into two sections:

This section provides information about the Alaska Content Standards and the Performance Standards. It includes a district standards-based curriculum development process and links to useful resources including the legal references related to the Alaska State standards.

"FIreweed Magazine" from Port Graham Students: Reading in a Cultural Context and Place-based Science Activities
"Fireweed" Magazine was developed in the early 80's at Port Graham and offers online offers examples of reading in a cultural context. The work of transcribing from the magazines was completed in 2001-2002 by students at Port Graham.
Interdisciplinary Lesson Plan - Alaskan Unit on Moose
