Download: Instructional Audit Tool (pdf) The Alaska Comprehensive Center, in collaboration with the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory, has organized a process of conducting instructional audits to assist the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development in supporting schools in need of improvement under NCLB. In this process a research-based collection of tools is used to identify a school's strengths and challenges. |

Following training in the instructional audit process, teams of Alaska educators visit schools to examine documents, observe classroom instruction and interview teachers, administrators and students. Their work is guided by the Instructional Audit Tool which focuses on six domains relevant to school improvement planning: curriculum, instruction, assessment, school learning environment, professional development and leadership.
